![]() Worth pointing out that it was rumored that Chase would be cutting price protection across all cards earlier this year as well. I suspect these changes will go into effect on the same date as the United changes for existing cardholders (June 1st, 2018). This is definitely a major negative change, lose of price and return protection didn't matter that much on United cards because they generally aren't used for every day purchases but cards such as the Chase Freedom Unlimited & Chase Freedom are very much used for those types of purchases. It's not clear how the travel insurance benefits will change on Chase branded cards, Sapphire Reserve is still showing the old insurance terms. The Chase Sapphire Reserve is our go-to credit card for purchase protection, but with a 550 annual fee, it’s not a cheap credit card, and its coverage is only really necessary for expensive. The only exception is the Chase Sapphire Reserve, this card still lists return protection as a benefit but price protection is not listed at all. Price and return protection are no longer listed.
